The role
An exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral research fellow to work on a Dunhill Medical Trust funded project developing and piloting a specialised link worker scheme for middle-aged and older adults with cerebral palsy has arisen. As part of this role you will work closely our project partners UP – The Adult Cerebral Palsy Movement (https://upmovement.org.uk/) and spend time based at UCLH and in the North Central London area where we will pilot the link worker scheme.
The role involves interviewing adults with cerebral palsy about ageing and their use of community resources, co-designing training materials for a specialised link worker and collecting and analysing data on the effectiveness of the link worker scheme. You will also work closely with expert advisory groups and stakeholders to ensure an impactful project.
As part of this role we are committed to helping you develop as an independent researcher in ageing. You will have mentorship from an experienced project team. You will have £2000 to spend on training as you wish. Finally, you will have the opportunity to develop your supervisory skills by supervising the project research assistants.
The position is available starting October 2024 at the University of Surrey, Guildford, UK, under the supervision of Dr Kimberley Smith.
